This changes explain us that why we have to pay our income tax properly for migration purpose !!
Legislative Instrument - Social Security (Assurances of Support) Determination 2018 - this Instrument increases the value of Assurances of Support (AoS), the income required to be permitted to provide an AoS and for the Community Support Programme. Assurances of support will increase by approximately 50% from 1 April 2019.
Income requirements have also been updated to ensure that an assurer has the capacity to provide the level of financial support required by a visa or CSP entrant.
Part 3 provides the requirements for persons or bodies to give assurances of support for visa entrants.
Part 4 provides the requirements for persons or bodies to give assurances of support for Community Support entrants.
Part 5 provided the income requirements for assurers to be permitted to provide AoS, these commenced on 1 April 2018.
These new formulas significantly increase the level of income required to be permitted to provide an AoS.
Part 6 provides the value of AoS before 1 April 2019 when the increases will be implemented.
Part 7 provides the increased values of AoS from 1 April 2019.
This Instrument relates to mandatory AoS for the following visa subclasses:
Number | Subclass |
103 | Parent |
114 | Aged Dependent Relative |
115 | Remaining relative |
143 | Contributory parent |
804 | Aged parent |
835 | Remaining relative |
838 | Aged dependent relative |
864 | Contributory Aged parent |
The Instrument also related to visa subclasses with discretionary AoS requirements:
Number | Subclass |
101 | Child |
102 | Adoption |
117 | Orphan relative |
151 | Former resident |
802 | Child |

For example, the new-start income cut-off amount is indexed, with that indexation taking effect for the purposes of calculating the individual’s assessable income on and from 1 July each year. This means that if a partnered individual with one child applies on 30 April 2018 to give an assurance of support for a migrating family of two parents and two children, the minimum required income amount of the individual is the total of:
(a) $115 476 (the newstart income cut-off amount of $28 869 multiplied by the total number of individuals giving assurance, persons receiving an assurance, and the partner of the individual giving assurance (4)); and
(b) $8 661 (10% of the newstart income cut-off amount of $28 869 multiplied by the total number of children of both the individual giving assurance, and the persons receiving assurance (3)).
